This is serious walking country. Waymarked paths start right at the door with Offa's Dyke nearby and the Black Mountains within easy reach. Presteigne is a traditional market town with independent shops and tea rooms.

Ludlow (Michelin-starred restaurants and a medieval market) is nearby. Hay-on-Wye's famous book festival town is close. Leominster's antique shops and the Elan Valley are worth the trip.
