Rock Cottage Reviews

Rock Cottage is situated in a lovely rural location. Its the ideal place to get away and relax in the peace and quite of the country side with walks from the front door. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped with all the utensils needed for your stay, or if you prefer there are local pubs, towns and villages within easy reach of the cottage. Trips to Ludlow, Tenbury Wells, Great Malvern and Bridgnorth via the Seven Valley Railway is a great way to explore the local area.
Great stay away from it all. Well equipped cottage and nothing to disturb the days and nights.
The property was fully described on the Sykes site and we were not disappointed. We wished we could have stayed longer but had only a few days spare. It is a peaceful location with public footpaths close by. The narrow lanes have plenty of pull in places to pass oncoming vehicles and access back on to main roads is easy. We enjoyed our visits to Worcester and Hereford cathedrals and the National Trusts Berrington Hall. We bought a selection of local cheeses from Monkland Dairy but missed the demonstration times. We felt that there were other places worth visiting had we been able to stay longer.

Location is perfect and footpath starting from across the road meant popping out with the dog for 5 minutes in the hot weather was a joy. Cottage is characterful a freshenup wouldn't go amiss, and I missed the fact there is no wifi fortunately there was enough mobile signal. Took a while to find the shower switch above the door which would been good in the instructions. Outside table is in nonsecure area saw they have acted on a previous comment about a fence to enclose main garden which is wonderful and a first! it would be better to have the table on the grass in the main garden. It's a lovely size for one or two people, and it's in a very peaceful location but not too far from Tenbury Wells or Leominster. As usual there is no mention of no dogs upstairs on the website only notices everywhere when you arrive I wouldn't have booked it spaniel with separation anxiety though we travel with huge throws for any furniture.
We had a relaxing week, A lovely cosy cottage , evening sitting by the fire listening to music, playing games and a bottle of wine. Many places to see around the area.
So wonderfully remote. So beautifully quiet. Less than 10 cars passed all week. A few lovely walks, Kyre Park worth a visit as is Ludlow. Cottage could do with a deep clean but hey, no one is perfect and the property is beautiful besides that. Bear in mind no wifi or smart TV, but didn't bother us in the slightest. Leominster laundry posted me on some items I had forgotten so thank you Alex and the team for that. All in all, a wonderful experience. Paul Shepherd
Lovely property , comfy beds , underfloor heating in kitchen wasn't working, kitchen good with an extra fridge , the garden is not completely dog friendly, all it would take would be a small strip of fencing, but this was not a problem with are well behaved dog, the road is so quiet anyway, would come back again.

Lovely old period cottage in an amazing rural setting, just what we wanted. No it has not been modernised to the nines, that is its charm. A much loved family heirloom. We were very fortunate to pick Rock Cottage, thank you to the owners.
Rock Cottage stands in a beautiful and rather remote area. There are plenty of walks directly from the door which really suited us. The cottage had comfortable beds and spotless linen. There was a large dog friendly garden, however there was a wide gap between the house and the barn, giving dogs access to the very quiet road. We resolved this by plugging it with the bins, but not before our Golden retriever had made a visit to the neighbours! We had wonderful weather and watched owls, red kites and bats from the garden. Neighbours and locals were lovely and friendly.

Rock cottage was just perfect. Peaceful and tranquil, in the most beautiful setting. Everything was as described. The owners and neighbours could not do enough for us. Ideally based for walking and visiting, so many beautiful places of interest. Or just sit in the sun room, relax and take in the views. It was warm and comfortable. Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend and return.
A lovely cottage which is totally secluded and very peaceful but also not that far from local town. Nice and snug with log burner going but the cottage does have its quirks, 4G signal can be a bit hit & miss had at least 3 nights when TV signal was very poor and unable to watch a lot of channels on TV. Also compared to other properties visited over the years did find the information provided about the local area & amenities a little lacking.
Frances
The bath drain was partially blocked, saucepan lids did not match saucepans, grill pan wasn't clean. Switches for working boilers, lights in conservatory confusing, etc. Didn't have the key code, had to get hold of owner, waiting 20 minutes for response, before we could enter the cottage, an email with details was received 2 days later from the owner. Otherwise a lovely spot in the country.
Tranquil, peaceful and quiet. Charming cottage to unwind and breathe in the air. Only thing you hear is the wind in the trees, the twitter of birds and the occasional bleating of sheep. Walk with the dog right from the front door, or visit dog friendly cafes in Leominster, take in a couple of national trust properties nearby. Or just relax in a cottage that wed definitely book again.
Trevor
Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful quiet countryside, ideal for restful days with a book and a glass of wine. Great for nature lovers, lots of birds spotted including a pair of green woodpeckers, local paths bit overgrown but passable for dog walking. Close enough to places of interest for day visits, National Trust properties nearby, recommend Pensons Restaurant nearby but do book in advance.
Thomas
The holiday cottage was beautiful, miles away from anywhere with stunning views, however you would need a car to get there as the nearest shop is miles away. But would never book with sykes again. Awful company to book through. We moved to Rock cottage and had to extra for the privilege after booking the school room in Hereford, through skykes, on the listing it had no information about the place having building work done or scaffolding, it was unclean, spent most of Saturday on the phone to get moved, we had no choice but to pay extra or come home, with two kids this wasn't an option, and no Apologie or compensation. Awful company steer clear, book with someone else.
