Fieldfare Reviews

Thomas
The Fieldfare cottage is really nicely arranged, with good living spaces and everything you're likely to need, all in a beautiful rural setting. Very recommendable!
Excellent lovely surroundings. ..and special touch of eggs
A lot of thought had gone into the way the cottage was equipped. It was completely peaceful, in a lovely setting. I would highly recommend it.
This was the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in! The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location is lovely and quiet. There are lots of lovely places to visit in a beautiful area of the country. We had a very enjoyable holiday

Really enjoyed our stay at field Fayre near Kingsland . Warm welcome to our very quiet cosy cottage , well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings , will defo visit again for longer next time .
We had a lovely stay. The cottage had everything we needed family of 4, with two children over 11 and is in a quiet spot. We loved the layout that gave us all space to our own thing when needed, and the kitchen and bathroom were just right for our needs. It was great to be able to see the buzzards, the local wildlife and sample the owner's chickens' free range eggs too. We'd definitely consider a return, especially if we needed somewhere for a larger group as we could book the other cottages too. It is well placed to visit lots of beautiful and interesting locations too we enjoyed Croft Castle and HayonWye. Thank you to Ed and family.
Lovely and relaxing. Owner very kind and helpful when my husband fell on a day out, which meant to cut our stay short.
Overall we had a good stay at Fieldfare Cottage. The cottage is in the middle of nowhere which was lovely and peaceful but meant a car journey every time time you wanted to go out...no shops or pub within walking distance. The cottage was well equipped, spacious and actually had a plug socket near a mirror which is very often not the case. There was no hanging space in the main bedroom upstairs so had to use the one in the bedroom downstairs. There was a constant dripping sound coming from the water tank which can be a little irritating... reported to the owner.
Perfect for 3 people although we did use sofa bed Lovely people plenty of parking would definitely recommend this place
Highly recommend this beautiful cottage! Stayed here for 11 nights and the hosts just couldnt do enough for us they were there when we needed them and gave us privacy at the same time! When we arrived the lovely hand written note and freshly laid eggs were a lovely touch to welcoming us into the cottage. The cottage is lovely and clean and has everything you could possibly need! I cannot wait to return to this peaceful slice of paradise in the countryside Thank you again so much to Ed Nena and Jo you guys are amazing!
Daniel
Fieldfare has been a great place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodation was very clean, very well presented and had everything and more you need for a relaxing stay. Perfect quiet, country setting, if youre looking for a stress free escape to Herefordshire, look no further!! Great communication from the host as well, who also left us some eggs for a lovely breakfast! Couldnt recommend staying here enough!
I went to fieldfare for Christmas. The cottage was so lovely and clean and Ed was a fantastic host. I would highly recommend this cottage to people.
Fieldfare is a lovely place to stay and the ownershosts are most hospitable. We would definitely consider coming again. Thanks for a very nice few days.
Frances
Delightful cottage nestled in a stunning part of the country. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well equipped, while being tastefully furnished with comfortable sofas and beds. The owners had also very kindly left some delicious fresh eggs as a welcome gift very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend and return.
We found the property in really clean condition. Bag of treats for our dog when we arrived. Never saw the owners which we don't mind either way. So quiet, except for the neighbouring cottage which I suspect is on long term rental, they were rather loud every morning but that has nothing to do with the owners. Eggs on arrival which was a nice touch.we only really use the properties as a base and spend most of the time exploring whichever county we are in. This cottage is excellent value and if we have to stay in the area again we will see if this is available, very good quality furnishings and just really nice touches in the cottages. One of the best we have stayed in through Sykes cottages.
Alison
Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Well provided with kitchen utensils. Small issue with kitchen tap soon remedied. Certainly would recommend.
A real Escape to the Country ! Picturesque and tranquil location and close to excellent village amenities. The property was spacious, most comfortable and very well equipped. A warm welcome from Ed and fresh eggs left in the kitchen. I much enjoyed my long weekend here.
Idyllic, wonderful hosts and a perfect break. Thanks very much for your warm welcome
Lovely, warm cottage in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The cottage is spacious. Hosts were very helpful, we had a problem in the cottage and they sorted it quickly. Lovely, freshly laid eggs had been left for usthank you.
If I could give this cottage 6 stars I would! We didn't want to come home! We spent 6 wonderful days in this beautiful cottage, decorated for Christmas which was a lovely surprise. Everything we needed was there, beautifully clean, cosy, with enough fire logs for the week! Thank you to Ed. Nena and Jo for making our first Christmas away from home so wonderful. Would have no hesitation on recommending this cottage and would go back in a heartbeat
Lovely warm cosy cottage, extremely peaceful and lots of walks on the doorstep for our dogs. Ed, Nina and Jo our hosts made us extremely welcome. Ideal for visiting many places, such as Ludlow, Ledbury and Hay on Wye. We will certainly return.
Rachel
Immaculately clean and the fixtures generally are of a high quality. The garden room is particularly pleasant due to the outlook. The owners were friendly and not intrusive, it was comforting to know they were nearby as the location is rural. That said, Leominster is only a short drive away and has a very good Morrisons and some interesting shops & eateries. Recommend also the black & white village route and Newton Court around 8 miles away for breakfast or lunch we went there twice and bought cider, honey and sweet treats from their well stocked shop.
Lovely clean and bright cottage situated in idyllic spot nestled in countryside yet close to villages. Fresh eggs provided by owner on arrival much appreciated. Only minor comment on cottage would be that shower was bit small and could have done with having soapshampoo dishcaddy. Walks on your doorstep at rear of cottage Ideal spot for visiting black and white villages and plenty of places to visit close by such as Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, Hampton Court Castle Gardens and Brosbury House and Gardens. All in all we had a lovely few days stay at Field Fare and would definitely come again.
Danielle
We had a really lovely few days at Field Fare and would definitely book again! The cottage was perfect for the two of us with our two dogs. Everything was clean, in good condition and furnished to a nice standard. The cottage is in a nice quiet area and has some gorgeous views. Plenty of walks on the doorstep and not far from pubs and shops in the car. The owners left us some fresh eggs to enjoy and some treats for the dogs. We left wishing we could have stayed a few more days!!
Doreen
This property was in an beautiful, peaceful area. Lovely dog walks on the doorstep, easy reach of shops and pubs. Everything you required was in the property. The shower room was on the small side but all other rooms were fine. The owner provided fresh eggs which were very welcome. An ideal place for a break.
Isabel
In your description of Fieldfare you mentioned a bathroom and cloakroom, this was incorrect there was only a bathroom. Toilet didnt flush very well and shower tray needed replacing it wws patched up around drain and doors stuck. I mentioned this to the owners who were aware of it. Quite a few black beetles in lounge but it was out in the country.
What a lovely place with very nice hosts. Their attention to detail is impressive. I would highly recommend this for a stay and will be returning.
