The Carthouse Reviews

Stuart
My favourite place to stay when working in Ledbury.
Alison
If you like getting away from it all with long country walks surrounded by nature this is the perfect getaway. Couple of pubs in village about 25 minute stoll. Accommodation itself was very relaxing with all mod cons. TV had all the apps to download Netfix. Amazon. BBC iplayer etc. Kitchen was well equipped and living area very relaxed with views over the fields. Only small thing was shower water lost it's heat a bit so you ended up a luke warm shower. But overall would say excellent value for money and highly recommended.
Stuart
Second time staying at the Carthouse when working locally. It beats staying in a hotel. Peace and quiet with a great kitchen which means I can cook what I want and not be relying on rubbish chain hotel restaurants. Also the smart TV is a godsend. Just login with your own Netflix, Disney or prime accounts.
Jeffrey
Great little apartment in a quiet location in the countryside. Relaxing short 3 night break. A little remote but there is a pub not too far to walk. Accommodation was excellent and there was a lovely welcome pack of milk eggs, bread etc on arrival.
Kathleen
Beautiful views. Cottage exceeded expectations. Beautifully decorated. Spotless clean. Welcoming ginger cat too. Owners extremely helpful coming to our rescue second day there with our car.
Gillian
Brilliant cottage. It had everything we wanted there. Nice we could park right outside. Being nearly 80 it was nice we didnt have to carry our cases very far. Thought of everything. Bath mat and bar to hold onto getting out showerbath. Also for the young we saw it had high chair. Thank you for the goodies. We didnt use the butter. We had a red kite come and sit on the fence one evening , also a deer was calling from the woods. It was so peaceful. Just pure bliss.
What a lovely cosy cottage , beds were so comfortable and what amazing views , would highly recommend

Was a really nice place to unwind, would definitely recommend.
Stuart
Lovely little hideaway that I used to stay in while working in the area. It is the perfect place to chill after work. Well equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room with TV and nice sofas. The TV has all the streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime where you just need to login with your own account. The bed was comfortable also. The only small issue is there was nobody there when I arrived and I wasn't sure about letting myself in until I spoke to one of the neighbours. An email with check in instructions might have been a good idea. Apologies if one was sent but I never received it.
Another great stay and will be returning yet again soon.
Nicholas
A comfortable stay, surrounded by lovely countryside. The Carthouse accommodation was clean, decor was a little datedmismashed but overall it provided us with a good place to call home for our mini break. I would have liked more information on the local area, walks, pubs etc included in the welcome pack. We would definately consider 'the Carthouse again in the future
Lovely cottage, it is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Clean and comfortable, home from home, perfect for a relaxing break. Very thoughtful of property owner to leave a welcome pack, as shop a little further away, plus flowers. Lots of walks through the beautiful countryside and good quality food served in The Butchers Arms.
Paulette
We had an excellent stay and all facilities met with our requirements. Properly was very clean, a lovely welcomed pack greeted us and overall a pleasant stay.
Robert
The Carthouse is a great place to stay. It is in a wonderful location with excellent walks on its doorstep. The property itself is warm, clean and very well equipped. We especially welcomed the provision of milk, bread, eggs etc. It is also very dogfriendly. The village has a lovely pub, Butchers Arms though be warned the portion sizes are not for the faint hearted. If you are looking for a holiday home in Herefordshire, this is definitely one to consider. We hope to go back one day.
Sandra
A lovely cottage, which felt very private. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic stay, thank you. Sandy & Marcus
Carole
Had a great time. I brought along cleaning products etc no need all provided along with dog bowls, blankets and treats. Bread and milk with clover margarine. Toothbrush, radix shower gel etc amazing catered for in case anything forgotten as its quite a way from shops. Butchers arms recommend lovely food reasonably priced. Picked apples from the trees. Quiet and would definitely return again. So thoughtful thank you. Xx
We have stayed in several cottages over the years through Sykes, We can honestly say that this cottage is one of the best, we would rate it at 99. 5, the only reason it is not a 100, because we need a walk in shower, rather than step into bath shower over bath, which is too difficult. The setting, countryside and views outstanding. within cottage without question everything is provided, and very comfortable. Also the provision of eggs, bread, butter, milk, Jams, tea bags, coffee and sugar awaiting our arrival was great. Like we say a fantastic comfortable cottage to stay at!!! we will deffo be returning when we can.
Jacqueline
Great cottage we had a lovely relaxing week. Very peaceful with fabulous views and lovely gardens. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Thank you.
Every thing as described a lovely and peaceful stay would definitely make a second booking
Lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Essential supplies in fridge and bread bin much appreciated since travel delays meant we missed shopping closing! Perfect for Ellie, our dog especially the lawned area in front of the cottage she loved it. Dog bowls etc a nice touch. Only thing missing a frying pan but this a very minor issue. Would definitely recommend the Carthouse.
A beautiful location with great gardenoutdoor space. The perfect place to get away from it all. The local Butchers Arms pub is a 20 minute walk away and is well worth visiting. There were some lovely little details such as the fresh flowers and bread, eggs, milk and jam left for us. Phillip and Anthony were very helpful and welcoming. Thank you very much.
Everything was as listed and All that we needed, perfect central location for exploring the area.
The Carthouse had everything we needed for a weeks stay, the welcome supplies of milk and bread and dog treats and poo bags were very useful, thank you. Great place to stay for exploring the Wye Valley or just relaxing in the quiet peace and tranquility of the Herefordshire countryside. Owners not intrusive, but on hand if you need them. Great place to stay.
