About Holiday Homes Hereford

Your specialists for self-catering holiday homes in Hereford and across Herefordshire

Our Story

Welcome to Holiday Homes Hereford. We connect families, couples and groups with self-catering holiday homes across one of England's most under-rated counties. Based at Thorn Business Park in Rotherwas, Hereford, we know this part of the Welsh Borders well. Herefordshire is bordered by Wales to the west and the Malvern Hills to the east. The River Wye runs through the middle of it. The county has ancient market towns, medieval castles, timber-framed villages and some of the quietest countryside in England.

We started with one aim: give visitors a genuine choice of quality self-catering properties in Hereford and the surrounding area. Hereford Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi are in the city centre. Ross-on-Wye is 14 miles south. Hay-on-Wye is 19 miles to the west. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park are within 30 miles. You have a lot to work with from a base here.

Our Values

We take holiday accommodation seriously. These are the standards we hold every property to:

Genuine Choice

We list properties for couples, families and larger groups. Two-bedroom cottages in the Golden Valley. Four-bedroom farmhouses near Ross-on-Wye. Properties sleeping 10 or more for reunions and celebrations. Whatever your group size, we have options that work.

Well-Placed Properties

Our properties sit close to the River Wye, the Wye Valley Walk, the Black and White villages and Herefordshire's market towns. Many are within walking distance of pubs, cider mills and local footpaths. We won't list a property with nothing nearby unless the setting genuinely justifies it.

Quality Standards

Every property in our collection is checked before listing. Clean, well-maintained and accurately described. Self-catering means fully equipped kitchens, proper linen and reliable Wi-Fi. We hold properties to those basics without exception.

Honest Pricing

The price you see is the price you pay. No booking fees buried in the small print. No inflated cleaning charges added at checkout. Competitive rates for quality self-catering accommodation in Herefordshire — which compares very favourably with the Cotswolds and Pembrokeshire.

Our Commitment to Self-Catering Holidays

Self-catering gives you freedom. Eat when you want. Come and go as you please. Bring the dog. Walk straight from the door along the Wye Valley Walk or Offa's Dyke. Drive out to Symonds Yat for the morning and be back for lunch. We're not a hotel chain or a corporate agency. We're specialists in Herefordshire who understand what makes a good self-catering break in this part of the country.

Herefordshire is not a mass-tourism destination. That is its strength. The Black and White villages see far fewer visitors than the Cotswolds. The Wye Valley is quieter than the Pembrokeshire coast. Hay-on-Wye has a genuine literary identity built over decades. The county rewards those who take the time to explore it properly.

Our Properties

Our collection spans Hereford city, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Hay-on-Wye, the Golden Valley, Leominster and the Black and White village trail. Riverside cottages with Wye Valley views. Stone farmhouses in the Golden Valley. Character properties in Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye within walking distance of the high street. Cottages in Pembridge and Weobley at the heart of the cider country.

Larger properties sleeping 10 to 16 guests suit milestone birthdays, family gatherings and groups travelling together. Many include private parking, open fires for autumn and winter breaks and enclosed gardens for children and dogs. Browse the full collection to find what suits your party.

Why Choose Holiday Homes Hereford?

Hereford works well as a holiday base. The city has everything you need without being overcrowded. You are 14 miles from Ross-on-Wye, 19 miles from Hay-on-Wye, 23 miles from Ludlow and within reach of the Welsh border in under half an hour. The Wye Valley, Offa's Dyke and the Herefordshire Trail give walkers hundreds of miles of routes. Cyclists have challenging terrain in Mortimer Forest and around the Black Mountains. The food and drink — Hereford beef, Herefordshire cider, local produce from farm shops — is worth travelling for in its own right.
