Steel Works Farm is a two-bedroom converted stable and barn cottage in Gorsley, a quiet village in Herefordshire sitting on the border with Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. It sits on the northern edge of the Royal Forest of Dean with views stretching across Herefordshire countryside to May Hill and the Malvern Hills. On clear days you can see the Brecon Beacons on the horizon. Original exposed stone walls and lofty ceilings give the interior real character.

The setting is genuinely rural. The cottage sides onto fields where horses, foals and goats roam daily. Direct access to local woodland makes this a solid base for walkers and dog owners. Ross-on-Wye is 6.4 miles away and Gloucester is 12.4 miles. A village shop with Post Office is 0.8 miles and the pub is 0.7 miles.

The cottage sleeps five across two bedrooms. The ground-floor family room has a double and single bed. Upstairs via a spiral staircase is a king-size master bedroom. One ground-floor shower room serves both. The living room has a plush sofa and electric woodburning stove.

Symonds Yat Rock (approx 10 miles), Goodrich Castle (9 miles), the Forest of Dean and Ross-on-Wye Golf Club are all within easy reach.

Steel works farm cottage was absolutely delightful. . from the second we stepped inside to the moment we drove away with the boys shouting thank you and bye out the car window to the horses as we left. The cottage is superbly fitted out, with fantastic heating, comfy beds, equiped kitchen and great Wifi. I think we will definitely be back for a future visit as the cottage and the location in right up our street, and the owners were incredibly friendly, alongside a wonderful welcome basket including a big packet of chocolate biscuits that were very much enjoyed!

The cottage was clean and well stocked. The owner came to check in on us on arrival and when we were checking out. A very peaceful location ideal for a tranquil getaway.

There is a angled velux window in the top bedroom doesn't have any form of blind or cover so when the sun comes up it unfortunately woke us up very early. It maybe best to spot check the cleaner as there was dead spiders and cobwebs found under bed and bedside cabinets and there was some dust. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of equipment for cooking and the lounge was super cosy

We had a wonderful stay here at Steel Works Farm. I just wish it was for longer. Will definitely be back again. It was comfortable, peaceful, beautiful setting and the nicest hosts. A delightful gem

Lovely location overlooking pasture filled with horses and foals. Ideal for discovering the local area. Lovely host very helpful.

Picturesque views over fields, forests, and gorgeous horses walking around. Comfortable sleeping arrangements and a lovely countrysidecottage decor. The farm family was so welcoming and our children were entertained by the young boy, playing football and exploring acres of land, climbing trees and roaming freely. Our boys also enjoyed a free horse ride on Aladdin the cart horse. Only reasons for not awarding 55 stars shower power very low skyline in our bedroom had no shutter, so bright light in the morning waking us up at 7am. This has not taken away from the enjoyment of the experience, however, and we would definitely recommend Steel Works Farm as a really good family vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. It was ideal for visiting family and friends in Ross On Wye. The cottage is comfortable, clean, and beautifully done, owned by a welcoming and friendly family who are on hand if needed, it is very well equipped having everything you need to feel like you are at home. It is very peaceful surrounded by lovely views, perfect for relaxing. Waking up to horses and goats in the field next to the cottage was perfect. Our little dog was relaxed too, she enjoyed reading the pee mails on our morning walks. We would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to stay there again.

This is a lovely little cottage ideally placed if you want some quiet time away with lots of nice dog walks. The property sides onto a large field containing horses and goats, which you can take in whilst sat drinking tea in the morning. It is a short walk from the local village which has a couple of pubs, one of which is run by Ghurkas. Nice food.

We had a fantastic few days at the cottage. It was the perfect base for us to explore the nearby villages and countryside walks. The cottage had everything we needed and was a lovely, peaceful setting. The horses, goats and dogs were an added bonus for our 3 children!

We had a lovely, relaxing few days away staying at Steel works farm, surrounded by wonderful views. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous so cosy and inviting and there was a lovely welcome hamper for us on arrival which was extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. During our stay we went on some woodland walks with my children which was fun and we were out for hours but the owners had collated an information pack with many days out you could also explore which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Steel works farm and would love to visit again!

Really lovely little cottage in the countryside. Easily accessible from the motorway. We were three friends wanting to meet over new year somewhere quiet with lots of dog walks nearby. Great Cottage, and location, nice quite setting got some good photos of a young Buzzard in one of the fields at the side of the cottage. Visited Cardiff, Ross on wye, Ledbury, Newent, BourtonontheWater, StowontheWold, and Worcester, all with in reasonable driving distance. The owners were very friendly and said if you need anything just ask. Everything in the Cottage you needed also milk,orange juice and a bottle of wine, in the fridge and a welcome pack. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at the barn and Jenny the owner was very Accommodating let us use her fields for walking and dog sports. And amongst the horses and goats in a tranquil environment could not have asked for more. I

No Hot water at the property, owner did not seem bothered. It would seem it's a long term issue which will required a new system installed. Skye's customers need to know there is no hot water. I would appreciate a call back as I would like to take this issue and others further.

We had a lovely stay at Steel Works Farm. The cottage was pretty, clean and had everything that we required, as well as a lovely basket of goodies on arrival. It is perfectly located for some days out, we went to Ross on Wye and Symons Yat, and walks along the lanes and fields. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Also loved seeing the horses, goats and dogs each day. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location to visit the many beautiful nearby towns and countryside. Jane and family were welcoming and friendly and the addition of horses, foals and goats meant there was always something to watch. Fabulous walking along the Wye valley and surrounding hills. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The addition of a hairdryer would have been good or maybe there was one and I didnt find it! Definitely a cottage and area to recommend. Lovely location and placesituation. Enjoyed our break. My son and his partner were not comfortable in the diub let bed. My bed upstairs was great. It all comes down to personal taste. Lovely and clean. Great goodie bag and very friendly. Had an unfortunate incident with a bird waking up up at 5 am. Not the fault of the cottage though. Just unlucky.

Jane and her grandchildren were wonderful hosts, becoming friends with us and sharing farm life fun and outdoor adventures across the adjacent fields. Amazing location with access directly into the local woods great for walking with or without a dog. Property standard very good, warm with good quality furniture and equipment. Kitchen is very tight in truth catering is a single person job as theres no space for a second person. Could do with a couple of larger pots for catering for a small group. We loved the location, the welcome of the owners the welcome pack was very generous. Definitely go back.

A beautiful little getaway cottage We had an amazing stay at this lovely little cottage, it was perfect for our family of 4 to stay in.
