The Croft Reviews

A wonderful place for a family gathering in a beautiful setting. Ages 2 to nearly 80 The weather wasn't great but it didn't seem to matter. Plenty of space but still cosy and homely. Beautifully clean and well equipped. Swimming pool and games room very popular and well presented. Would mention however high chlorine level in pool caused one child to cough . Hide and seek on Sunday morning was a highlight for the children. Altogether really great.
This was perfect for a family weekend getaway. The accomodation and facilites were fabulous. Well equiped, very clean comfortable and spacious. It catered for all our needs. The party age range was from age 4 71. The swimming pool was a hit with everyone although feel the chlorine level was a little high. Would gladly go back.
An ideal location for a family gathering. However, it was somewhat disappointing that the temperature of the swimming pool was too low for comfort and wifi was inadequate for guests who needed to maintain business contact during the week. Even so, our three year old grandson summed it up by declaring that it was all 'amazing'.
We found the Croft to be one of the best we have stayed at. Perfect for our large group and in spite of weather very comfortable and lots to occupy all ages. Would definitely book again
We loved our stay at The Croft. Lovely surroundings, easily accessible, well heated, very clean and wellmaintained. The owners were really helpful and quick to respond to my queries and very accommodating in response. Hope to return one day in the future. Thank you.
Claire
Amazing place our family had a great time. The owner was really helpful and answered any questions really quickly. I would thoroughly recommend this place.
The had a Luvly stay at the Croft 24 of us to celebrate my 70th birthday. There was plenty of room. The pool and games room were well used by all. We used Sarah from Food for Thought as a caterer for the Saturday night and the meal was wonderful everyone was very happy.
Great place for a group of 20. Beautiful setting and position, great accommodation. It would have been very useful if we could have charged an electric car
We stayed for a long weekend where we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with 22 of us. We had a fabulous time. Swimming pool was a major hit with all the family. The house and facilities are extremely good and very well maintained. Thank you.
Stewart
Superb. Nothing negative to say. Swimming pool a major hit with all the family. Now booked for 2 years time!
Claire
Beautiful property and amenities for a wonderful family stay. Highly recommend it as weather was great so we could use outside patio a lot along with garden, BBQ and pool. Minor improvements like could only book 1 highchair online when needed 2 and 3 actually available similarly 2 travel cots on site. More information upfront on crockery including serving dishes, cutlery and glasses for dinner managed by external caterer would have been useful to save calls to owner but we were pleased to know cupboards well stocked with equipment. Only snag was seal on 1 of 2 dishwashers was broken so didnt work as well but reported so should be fixed.
This was a family holiday to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with 17 of us, ages from 1 to 71. We had a lovely time with plenty for us all to do, even when the weather let us down. We would definitely recommend the Croft, we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay. The dining area doubled up as a revision room for a 16 year old with GCSE exams and a games room for those who like cards, puzzles or Hero Quest!!! It's a bit pricey but worth saving up for.
Michael
A truly spectacular venue in a beautiful setting with every facility imaginable and great attention to detail.
We had a wonderful stay at The Croft for a joint 60th & 10th birthday celebration at the end of March . There were 18 of us in total. The pool was a big hit with the youngsters and the pool room was a big hit with the adults. Parts of the house were cold upon arrival & we couldn't turn heating on , but as soon as we contacted the owner , the heating which should have switched on automatically was activated and the house soon warmed up. Would definitely stay again .
Great family get together in this wonderful large property. The swimming pool was such fun, and the sauna was amazing! The kitchen was well equipped with cutlery, crockery and utensils. Really fabulous weekend, everyone enjoyed themselves!
The property was fantastic we had a group of family members with a variety of ages & it suited everyones needs. The pool was a great hit, the water was really warm & highly recommend for a weekend stay. The kitchen was really well equipped, clean & well maintained. We will definitely be returning.
Rosemary
Fabulous property for our family weekend of fun and games. Plenty of room for everyone 20 plus baby. Fabulous grounds surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Excellent swimming pool, although could do with a clean. Several guests extremely disappointed to find the sauna was out of action. We could have done with the Aga for additional cooking space but apparently its not turned on until October. We also had to get the BBQ replaced as it was dirty, and full of water. However, it was changed immediately. All in all though a great stay.

Really good accommodation for young and old alike. The swimming pool was brilliant. Given this was the last week of school holidays, nothing looked shabby!!
Heather
We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary at The Croft with family and friends 20 of us with ages ranging from 8 months old to 76! The Croft was lovely, everyone had lots to do, it was comfortable, well appointed, in a lovely setting with fantastic views. Everything you may need was there, the owner was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The indoor pool and garden were favourites, and all enjoyed a couple of BBQs on the terrace. We could not have had a better celebration, and the weather was great too!
Michael
Utterly brilliant and the pictures do not do it justice. The communication and ease on the day of arrival was brilliant. A massive house to a high standard throughout but comfy with it so you can feel like you can relax. There was 24 of us and we all had ample space. The icing on the cake by far is the pool, sauna an yoga building. Followed very quickly by the stunning gardens. Tracey was really helpful on the day getting us sorted and everything you need to know is in a really useful manual. Two large fridge freezers meant we could stock for the duration and everything you could ever imagine you needed is in the kitchen. We had so much fun and was a great place to be together. We will be going back.
We had a brilliant weekend, and would definitely book another visit in future. The house and facilities are incredible, and very well maintained.
Howard
Fantastic house for a large family gathering. The swimming pool and garden are wonderful and it was perfect for 10 adults and 8 children meeting together. Everyone loved it all!
Elizabeth
We had the most amazing weekend at The Croft. Family of 13 adults and 5 children celebrating 2 x 30th, a 50th and a 60th birthday. The pool is amazing, beds were super comfy, kitchen was so well equipped, really everything you could want was catered for. I really can't say enough about the Croft. We will be returning 100 and already recommended it to other friends. An absolute hidden jewel, if I could give more than 5 stars I would
An excellent week's holiday for our family of 17. The pool, the accommodation and other facilities, cannot be faulted. David Holman

The property is fantastic and Tracey the owner is very accommodating. My family and I had the most amazing and magical Christmas there. The kitchen was well equipped for our large party, the lounge areas were very comfortable and both the adults and children especially enjoyed the heated indoor pool and games room, we would definitely recommend the Croft to other large groups.
What an amazing house, excellent facilities and a great view and grounds. I would highly recommend and already looking to book a return stay.
Another amazing stay at the croft. 4 generations together for pre Christmas celebrations. Aged from 7 weeks to 82. Something for everyone. The swimming pool is amazing and so much room in the house. Can't wait to go again. Roll on 2025
The listing doesn't do this properly justice, it's far better than the description and pictures tell, from the grounds to the house and of course the pool, everything is perfect. You never feel under each others feet at all, there is space for everyone.22 of us for my daughters birthday and it was special. It is superbly equipped and comfy, Tracy is attentive to make sure your stay is perfect and we will definitely recommend and return cannot fault this place Thankyou so so much
Thank you for arranging everything at The Croft. The owner was there to greet us and helped set up an arrangement whereby one of our party, who had recently broken her leg, could still access her room. Everything was as described. Only one slight issue was raised Bedroom 1 didn't have any blindcurtain in the ensuite! The kitchen was very well equipped. There was just one utensil missing that we could have done with. That was an apple corer, to prepare all the wonderful apples that we foraged from the hedgerows at this time of the year.
An excellent experience from booking the Croft to departure, all my guests and family were very happy with the weekend break and we created some long lasting memories. Tracey was a star throughout, very helpful abd nothing was too much trouble for her. We will happily visit again !
The property was very suitable for our needs. Everyone with an age range of 14 to 80 plus enjoyed the facilities and found the place comfortable. The accuracy of the listing is down because we gained from the website that there were two kitchens. 9
Richard
The pool was a big plus.
Patricia
Overall The Croft is a beautiful well equipped property and has a lovely setting. Myself and my family enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing week staying there, we would return and recommend. The indoor swimming pool, pool and football tables were appreciated as the weather was not great. We did have a bbq one of the days which was good. Although Wifi was a little temperamental did not cause a major issue. Thank you Tracey for your friendly and helpful manner.
What a beautiful house! We had an amazing weekend at The Croft celebrating family birthdays. The house is fully equipped, comfortable and super spacious. There was nothing I can fault. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much
Hannah
The croft was stunning, very comfortable, clean, and we all had a great time. However, the internet is appauling! I think it's worth noting in the listing that there is very very little internet in the house. There is WIFI, but the signal is very weak and we weren't even able to load a simple webpage from anywhere in the house. As this was a corporate booking for us, this caused us all sorts of issues throughout the stay as we couldn't do any work at all. The phone signal is also awful, so we couldn't even hot spot our phones. This is the only negative comment we have, however. If this had been a none corporate booking we wouldn't have minded, as it's probably quite nice to switch off from the world for a bit. But it's a key piece of information really that should be listed in the description, no internet!
14 of us had a lovely stay at The Croft, communication regarding the booking with Tracey was spot on, the house itself was lovely, very well equipped and the pool was really nice, the setting of the house is very beautiful. Would absolutely recommend this property.
We stayed for the weekend at the Croft celebrating my moms 60th birthday. There was 13 of us in total. We had the best weekend, the house and facilities are amazing, Tracey the owner is very helpful and made sure we had a lovely stay. There is plenty of space and all the rooms are kept lovely. The pool is brilliant and a lot bigger than we expected. We had a private chef on the Saturday evening and he was stunned by the house. We would definitely recommend and 100 booking again.
An excellent property ideal for large groups The swimming pool was ideal especially as we had 7 children with us Beautiful area with some lovely walks Everyone we met were very friendly It would be beneficial to have a second sink in the kitchen especially if the property is full. The grounds are fantastic and the bonus of children's play area was advantageous Would definitely visit again
Amazing stay this house and all its facilities is incredible! Fantastic memories made!
