Holmer Farm Reviews

Graham
A delightful location in the Herefordshire countryside. Easily accessible to a number of pretty villages and towns
Lindsey
The cottage is so cosy and has everything you need. The owners are lovley, living in the home next to the cottage but very respectful of your space and privacy. Lots of walking in the area and perfect if travelling with your dog. We will definitely return.
I loved my stay at Holmer Farm. It's a lovely little endofbarn conversion with nothing but storage next to it, so no noise from other guests. A seperate kitchen from the living area with a dishwasher, proper cooker, microwave. A comfy living area, a comfy bed and a little bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Warm, dry. The landscape around the cottage is beautiful and quiet i wanted isolation and solitude and got it, it's wonderfully quiet and the stars are beautiful at night due to the lack of light pollution. The owners left me to get on with it which was very much appreciated i was met on arriving and directed to the cottage, Isabel checked in on me on the last morning as i was packing to go, and that was it exactly what i hoped for. As a musician i appreciated the space to make a bit of noise knowing that i wasn't bothering anyone. The wifi was rocksolid. I also arrived to a lovely little welcome package of wine, cake and crisps. Extremely restorative and i honestly didn't want to leave.
We had an excellent week, the cottage is nicely furnished, and very comfortable with everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful owners. This is one of the very best cottages we have ever stayed in, we will definitely return. Many thanks for the thoughtful welcome pack We loved the area, beautiful scenery. The cottage was well placed, with it being easy to get anywhere.

Set in a quiet location. Cottage was comfortable and had everything you require. Comfortable bed and a lovely welcome pack was much appreciated
Beautiful charming very comfortable and cozy very welcoming ,everything you need for a relaxing break and so quiet surrounded by wildlife buzzards and a red kite flying above you daily . The owners kindly left an amazing welcome pack with everything you need after your journey.definitely no complaints at all about the property or stay .follow the recommended advised route to the property as the lanes dont all have signs as sat nav directions are not good .cant wait to go back .
This is a wellequipped holiday cottage in a lovely quiet setting fully justifies the good reviews. The area is deeply rural, with plenty of walks and lots of wildlife, but close to main roads and with easy access to Hereford, the Malverns, and the Severn Valley. No need to worry about finding the place, 'though a good 'oldfashioned' map is probably more useful than satnav .... Owners nearby, friendly, attentive and available if needed and they provided one of the best 'welcome packs' I have come across. Highly recommended hope to return !
We had a lovely stay and great location for our our visit. Very welcoming hosts and lovely hamper on arrival. We visited Ludlow and Queenswood Arboretum which was great for our little boy with a gruffalo trail and had lunch at the cafe.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is spacious, well equipped with a comfy bed and great shower. The air conditioner in the bedroom was really appreciated. The outdoor furniture catches the late afternoon sun, ideal for relaxing after visitingwalking the surrounding countryside.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting, very nice friendly owners.

This comfortable property was fully equipped to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Ideally situated for exploring this part of England in a very peaceful part of the countryside though city lovers might find it too isolated but that is exactly what I loved about it. There is plenty to see and do in the area, in fact, one would need longer than a week to do it all justice. Given the opportunity I would definitely return here again.
Booked a short break of three nights. The cottage has everything that you need for a pleasant stay and the basket of goodies on arrival was much appreciated. Only gave 4 stars as it would have been nice to have had some personal contact with the owners whilst staying even just a Hello especially as I was a solo guest. Also the reception in the evening for the TV was poor so was glad that I had my laptop and was able to watch programmes on that. Overall though a good place to stay for the area.
Graham
We didnt find the property to be anything like the photo on line, looking very tired needs some TLC ceiling upstairs very low had to very careful when walking round. Very nice people but our expectations were for more comfort.
Beverley
A really lovely, comfortable cottage, with a great deal of thought put in to what visitors need. It was warm and cosy and beautifully furnished. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

Loved our week here, spent visiting friends who live locally and will definitely book again. The bed is so comfortable and the bedroom itself is fresh and modern. A lovely room walk into. The owners are on hand if needed we didn't need for anything and they gave us use of their beautiful Meadow which our greyhound LOVED and made fab use of her free zooming. Fabulous quiet spot with stunning views and walks. Thank you for our lovely stay.

We had a lovely week at Holmer Farm cottage. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a wonderful welcome basket full of goodies. A very quiet and peaceful location. Outside area was fenced off which was perfect for our dog. We were also able to give the dog a longer walk in the evening in the field behind the cottage and along the surrounding lanes. Ideal base for visiting the Herefordshire countryside and towns. Numerous National Trust sites within easy reach.
We really enjoyed our stay and had every comfort. Thank you very much for the welcome basket too. There was was no dvd player, which was in the property details. So you may want to update that.
Lovely, remote rental. Lovely views, great hosts, lots to see and do from location. Very dog friendly with enclosed space for dog to be outside.
Lodge was excellent a lovely welcome pack on arrival. Situated in a very rural area but ideal to visit many places of interest. Must be well insulated because it kept warm throughout the week. Had a very good weeks stay definitely recommend.
Richard
Lovely property with well equipped kitchen, cozy living area and comfy bed up in the eves. Generous welcome basket was appreciated. It was handy to have the small fenced area outside so we could let the dog out supervised but off lead for a wee. Very rural quiet location. Weather wasn't great during our stay, just means we have to come again in better weather. Our 3 year old cocker spaniel settled right in. Like it was home from home.
Lovely peaceful cosy cottage. 2nd time visiting here, love the area. Thank you to Cecil for helping me out when required!
We really enjoyed our week there it was very comfortable, clean, and the owners were really nice and the welcoming basket was great touch.
Vicki and Ryan were welcoming and very helpful. The cottage was comfortable and set up like a home rather than a holiday let.. Being on the border of 3 counties means there is plenty to do in the area.
Lovely well equipped cottage. Ample outside space for the dog as well a bbq and outdoor furniture. Great location with plenty to do in the surrounding area.
Valerie
Best rental property we have stayed in. Only one negative, the bedroom curtains need lining to help keep early morning sun out. Everything else excellent
Louise
Lovely comfortable and clean cottage in a beautiful rural location ideal for exploring. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the garden furniture in the separate courtyard at the end of a days walking with a glass of wine, listening to the birds singingbliss.
The only disappointment for us was that we were unable to stay at the property for the full 7 days due to a family medical issue, but the 4 nights we did stay were lovely. Its incredible value for money first and foremost, plus its very quiet with lovely views across farmland. We loved the field next to the cottage to exercise our border collie before going out for the day and we also liked the convenience of being able to park right outside. We visited Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Brockhampton Park all National trust and beautiful and Queenswood Country Park which our dog loved. The area is wonderful too, Ludlow is a gem with its market 4 days a week. Highly recommended if you want peace and quiet in a comfortable relaxed setting.
Madeleine
A wonderful stay at Holmer Farm, despite the unfortunate April weather! ! The cottage has everything you need for a great stay, it is very homely and comfortable especially the bed, well equipped and extremely quiet and peaceful. The owners are friendly but not intrusive and provided a very generous welcome pack. Our dog very much enjoyed the stay. There is an enclosed area so you can just let them out which is ideal. There is gorgeous views and countryside to walk the dog on the doorstep too. Overall, the cottage is really peaceful and the owners have equipped it perfectly. Would highly recommend!
An incredibly helpful owner.
Beautifully presented well equipped property. Everything we could wish for us and our dog. Thank you.
Lovely, well equipped cottage. So peaceful, rarely hear vehicles. Beautiful views. Though in the grounds of the owners, only saw them once. You are left well alone. Our dog Ralph was very happy here. We had good weather too which helped. Having said that I would still be happy to curl up with a good book if the weather had turned bad. Would love to return one day.
If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Very comfortable cottage, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hosts were friendly and approachable but not intrusive.
A lovely comfortable cosy cottage. A great place to explore from with Shropshire and Wales close by. Lovely Black and White houses, National Trust Properties and gardens all in the area.
