Is The Hop Kiln Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
Children love the working farm with sheep and cattle to visit. The safely enclosed communal paddock provides acres of space for running around. One three-year-old left the curtain open to wish the sheep goodnight. The private garden leads directly to the play area. Inside there's plenty of room for games and the bunk bedroom suits younger guests perfectly.
For Couples
The Hop Kiln works better for families than couples due to its size and layout. Two good-sized double bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping but the spacious ground floor and family facilities suit groups better. The peaceful countryside and sun trap garden provide relaxation. Nearby Hay-on-Wye and Ledbury offer romantic days out browsing books and antiques together.
Pet Friendly
The property information does not confirm whether pets are welcome at The Hop Kiln. Given the working farm setting with sheep and cattle, there may be restrictions. Contact owners Sandra and David directly to discuss bringing your dog. The enclosed paddock and countryside walks would suit active dogs if pets are accepted by arrangement.

Lovely large family accommodation just the 3rd bedroom is too small for bunk ... Lovely large family accommodation just the 3rd bedroom is too small for bunk beds in our opinion but daughter and grandson slept okay on sofa bed downstairs In all good few days would use again

Spacious , well equipped house in a lovely area.
The cottage is just as described and is equipped as a home from home. My grandchildren particularly liked playing in the paddock. We had great weather during our visit so it was nice to sunbathe in the back garden which is quite a sun trap. The cottage is situated in stunning peaceful surroundings so great for long walks or cycling. The owners are so lovely and close by should you need anything. We will definitely stay in this cottage again when we are next holidaying in the area.
A wonderful stay at the Hop Kiln, it had everything we needed as a family of 6 and the owner was very friendly. The outside space was especially brilliant for our 4 boys! Perfectly situated for visiting lots of interesting places.

This is a return visit for us. As usual we very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and in beautiful surroundings The owners are very friendly and easy to contact if needed for anything. Looking forward to our next visit.
Michael
Fantastic property in a beautiful, picturesque setting. Lots of space for a family of 5 it would even accommodate a lot more. Everything was on hand in the fully equipped kitchen with lots of seating. Lovely owner who came to check everything was ok on a good few occasions. An all round great Christmas thanks to our stay here and I will definitely be going back.
Beautiful destination, lovely, clean and well facilitated cottage. We enjoyed our stay and had a lovely family break away from the busy lifestyle despite the weather. No complaints from us
The barn has been very well converted and provides spacious and comfortable accommodation. The garden is very relaxing and the property is an ideal base for Hereford, Hay on wye, Ledbury and lots of other very pretty places. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, and shower rooms have a great pressure! It is quite remote with the nearest shop a couple of miles away, and from some directions access is via a very tight country lane. Only slight drawback was the flies everywhere and a lack of basics such as bin liners and cleaning products. DVDs would also have been very welcome!

We were very happy with the Hop Kiln. It was a lovely place to spend a week with family light and airy and in a beautiful location. The hosts were attentive, friendly and approachable without being intrusive at all. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a comfortable, peaceful, and lovely stay at Hop Kiln. Everything was as described on Sykes Web site. Would recommend.
Lesley
The property was amazing, it was 1 of 4 barn conversions on a working farm. It was better than expected, the owners were very friendly and welcoming and if anything was amiss they were on hand to deal with it. We never had a problem. Excellent for the children, we had our own private garden that led onto a communal field that was safely enclosed. They loved going to see the sheep. Excellent base for exploring, we were out every day. Pembridge village was picture postcode as was the accomodation. Highly recommend a stay here. Thank you for sharing your property with us.
Nice cottage but we were overrun with flies. As fast as we could get rid of them more came in. We couldn't open a window the whole time which was a problem as yet weather was very warm.
Driving through the beautiful Herefordshire countryside to Luntley Farm gives you the feel good factor. On arrival, our expectations of the beauty of the property were not disappointed. Sympathetically restored former hop barn, the huge ground floor space was exceptional. The underfloor heating kept the property really warm on some chilly nights. A spiral staircase led to two good size double rooms, one ensuite. Plenty of storage space in these bedrooms. Third bedroom with bunk beds was small, but perfectly ok for children. Small criticism would be that the double bed was very low for a couple of seniors. Mobile phone signal was nonexistent, but no complaints as we chose this area for peace and quiet. Small problems quickly attended to by owners, so all in all, we had a wonderful time and wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
Lovely, wellequipped and furnished holiday home. Owners were welcoming and live in the farmhouse nearby always available to assist with any requests or problems, big or small, without being intrusive. Beautiful location on a working farm and lots of space for children to play safely.
Elizabeth
The cottage was extremely clean and spacious, it is decorated and maintained to a high standard. The owner onsite and happy to address any queries you might have. The view to the front of the property overlooks a picturesque Dovecot and the small garden at the back catches the sun and is ideal for eating outside round the large table. The nearby village of Pembridge worth a visit and is ideal for eating with pubs, cafes and village stores. We enjoyed our week and would happily recommend it to others.
Stacey
We had such a lovely week at the Hop kiln, We are a large family with 5 children ranging from 1 14 years and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and play without getting on top of each other. Its lovely being in the middle of a farm and our 3 year old particularly enjoyed leaving his curtain open at bedtime so he could wish the sheep goodnight! The barn is spacious, warm and comfortable and really well equipped the only thing we missed which would have been useful was a mop! The owner was lovely popping her head in on our first evening to say hi. It really was the most relaxing week away weve had In a long time and we will definitely return
We all found this to be a really comfortable and well equipped holiday let. Some great welcoming touches, such as a basket of fresh eggs to greet us on arrival. We would return without hesitation.

The barn was large but extremely comfortable. The standard of equipment was excellent. It is a working farm, as stated and it was lovely to be a very small part of it for a week. Sandra and David were great and we had everything we needed. We we very lucky the weather was exceptional. Loved it.
Peaceful cottage with beautiful surroundings.
