Is The Cottage at Rocklands Farm Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
This cottage is not ideal for children. The property is designed for couples or adult friends with one king-size bedroom and no specific child facilities. There are steps into the property and garden room which require supervision. The working horse livery environment needs careful adult oversight. However, older children who appreciate nature, horses and countryside walks would find the farm animals and wildlife spotting opportunities engaging.
For Couples
Perfect for couples wanting peace and countryside connection. The king-size bed receives outstanding reviews for comfort. Spend evenings in the enormous conservatory watching deer and fox cubs at dusk. Walk hand-in-hand to the River Wye in five minutes. Visit Goodrich Castle for medieval romance. Nine golf courses sit within 30 minutes. Explore Michelin-starred restaurants nearby. Stargaze through the bedroom Velux window. The thoughtful welcome pack and private walled garden create an intimate escape.
Pet Friendly
This property does not accept pets. The farm operates as a small horse livery with resident horses, ponies and cats on site. Guests can meet and feed the horses in the stables. Many visitors loved interacting with the resident cats during their stay. The working farm environment and presence of other animals means bringing your own pets is not suitable. Wildlife including deer and foxes regularly visit the grounds.

The Cottage at Rocklands Farm Reviews

We enjoyed a lovely week at Rocklands farm. The owner made us very welcome and gave us freedom to enjoy the garden and garden room in addition to the comfortable, warm accommodation. The working equestrian farm provided a quiet relaxing environment with easy walks from the farm. It was also well placed to visit surrounding towns and wonderful local Inns. We would unreservedly recommend Docklands Farm to anyone who loves quiet comfort and countryside coupled with a delightful owner who was readily available if any assistance was required.
Christopher

On arrival we were met by our host Marriane and from this point and throughout our stay was friendly and extremely helpful in providing information or recommendations for our stay, without being intrusive. The accommodation was spotless, a generous 'welcome' was provided and the beds and pillows extremely comfortable. The surrounding countryside is beautiful as are the horsesponies and cats on site. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant stay. Marianne was a perfect host, very friendly and always asked if everything was ok. We could wander around the grounds and go in the stables to meet the horses. The accommodation was lovely and well equipped. The location was quite and had stunning views. It was a good location for exploring Herefordshire and the boarders of Wales. Excellent all round

The cottage has wonderful views of the surrounding Wye Valley and makes an excellent base for exploration. A very comfortable holiday cottage with a garden of its own, also well equipped! It felt like a home from home with a warm welcome from the owners. We were sad to leave and hope to return.
David G
A great stay in a fantastic location. Marianne was an excellent host for whom nothing was to much trouble including providing a cooling fan when it got rather warm. What could be better than at dusk every evening sitting in the fields watching fox cubs play and the deer wander past. Thank you for a very enjoyable week and you never know we may be back
Sylvia
We loved this property! It has all you need, beautifully clean, friendly owners, lovely garden, enormous garden room with extra TV. Walks from property and plenty of eating places. Would love to return.
We had a great 3 days at Rocklands Farm. Marianne was very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with a wellequipped kitchen and a great huge bed. The Garden Room and Courtyard are also available for use by guests. The farm is in a peaceful spot and there is little or no noise. There is lots of great walking in the area, including footpaths leading from the Farm itself and we didn't actually need to use the car during our stay. Footpaths lead to the nearest pub, Cross Keys, but are rather overgrown. The effort is worth it as the food was excellent. Goodrich Castle is within walking distance, as is the River Wye and Symonds Yat.
Marianne couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful with her local knowledge. Beautiful little cottage, everything you need and perfect location for exploring.
