Notts House Reviews

What a lovely stay at this beautiful holiday home. Communication with the owner was excellent and she was very accommodating. The property was well equipped and was comfortable providing a great space for our family gathering. The village has a good shop and breakfast at the garden centre is highly recommended. Lots to see locally Weobly where Hamnet was filmed is worth a visit. All in all a fantastic place to stay.
We had a fabulous family Christmas at Notts House. We have never stayed anywhere that was so well equipped with baking trays, pots and pans etc. The house has a genuinely warm and homely feel. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was beautifully soft. Im glad the younger members of the family were on the top floor. We might have struggled with the staircase a little, especially in the middle of the night. The house is ideally situated for visiting surrounding areas like Hereford, Brecon and Hay on Wye.

Lovely house in a great village location public transport links to Hereford, handy garden centre plus a great village shop and friendly village social club all within easy walking distance. Beautiful countryside and a wealth of local attractions to keep everyone happy before coming home to a comfortable and well equipped house at the end of a busy day.
WOW what a wonderful cottage, Id say the nicest weve stayed in. Excellent facilities, loved everything about it from the moment we arrived, and the welcome pack was so kind too. A pretty village in easy reach of the black and white trail, we thought the Herefordshire countryside just fabulous and would love to return, especially to this particular property. Highly recommend, dont think youll be disappointed.

Notts House is a charming and wellappointed cottage in a lovely peaceful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is welllocated for access to Hereford and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Lovely comfortable cottage, full of character, facilities first class, cleanliness immaculate. Loved the garden and the church yard so peaceful. Wellington is a lovely village, make sure you visit the social club next door to the shop.
We had a wonderful stay at Notts House. This beautiful cottage, nestled next to a church and with its own well maintained garden, was the perfect setting for our getaway. The host thoughtfully welcomed us with a generous pack that included wine, biscuits, and other essentials. The cottage itself is full of charm and comfortably accommodated our group of eight, with character throughout. We also appreciated the host's helpful recommendations on local activities and sights. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely family break staying together in Notts House. Communication was excellent with Lynn who was so helpful and left a gratefully received welcome hamper. Staying in a property like Notts House is a unique experience if only those walls could speak! The house is warm and cosy and is equipped with everything and more that you could need. It has a wonderful and again unique location in Wellington, which is a delightful village. The community shop is well stocked with helpful and friendly staff in fact, everyone in the village was friendly. My husband and daughter' partner went to watch the local football team and were warmly welcomed after the game at the social club so they were very happy!! Lovely countryside for walking just out of the gate. Amongst other locations we visited Leominster, Hereford, Ross and Hay on Wye. Would thoroughly recommend the Weir Gardens and other National Trust properties nearby Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you Lynn.

We stayed at Notts house for a week celebrating my Daughter's birthday, and had a really lovely time so cosy and it had everything you need for a comfortable stay , lots of country walks local shop and good communication with owner of property would highly recommend
What a lovely cottage, snug and warm and very private. Very well equipped kitchen the best we have seen in many years of staying in holiday cottages all round the U.K.. The owner Lynn, was so helpful and only a phone call away. The weather was spectacularly bad on several days thunderstorms, but it was comforting to know that we could return to the warmth and comfort of Notts House to dry out and relax at the end of the day. Handy village stores just down the road and Fish & Chip night on Wednesdays courtesy of a mobile provider. Highly recommended property.
This holiday property was exceptionally clean, neat and well resourced, right down to the small touches. On top of this, the cottage was beautiful, full of history and situated in the most beautiful country setting.
Rachel
We had a wonderful stay in this delightful beautiful cottage and we are looking forward to returning again in the future. The two rooms in the attic, as mentioned in the listing, are difficult to reach but for our four year old it added to the magic as she thought she was sleeping in the princess tower. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Was a privilege to have the opportunity to stay there.

Stayed here for a long weekend including a wedding nearby. We had a fantastic stay. The house is amazingly well equipped for cooking and barbecuing etc. the top floor bedrooms are quite small with low ceilings but this is part of the character of the cottage. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms pleasant. The village is very quiet but has a well stocked shop. There is a footpath right next to the house which leads along the stream or to surrounding countryside. The property owner was very helpful and gave detailed directions and extra info about the house before arrival. I look forward to staying there again!
A delightful cottage. Beautifully appointed. Entrance to property is difficult. Two second floor bedrooms difficult to reach But a very successful holiday stay. Warm and comfortable. Good location.

A memorable stay in an amazing house. This is a great place to stay. It is peaceful, roomy, warm, well laid out and caters for everyone including the family pet. My wife is raving about the quality of the bed linen.....it may cost me a fortune! The weather was a bit mixed during our stay but we were comfortable and warm with lots to entertain us including games for the kids. This is a lovely area and staying in such a fine house added to the enjoyment of our stay. A special word of thanks to our host Lynn who was always there for us on the end of the phone if we had a query. Thank you also for the welcoming gift.
Robert
A lovely cottage in a very convenient location, with easy access to Hereford, Ludlow, Hay, Ross and the surrounding beautiful countryside. Clean, tidy and very wellequipped with a lot of character. The owner was very helpful throughout. Wellington village itself seemed to be a friendly place judging by our interactions with the locals, and a special mention for the people who run the local shop, who were great.
A lovely cottage , very clean , nice position the dog enjoyed his walks over the fields and then cooling down on the ford. Wellington garden centre nearby nice food. I think Notts cottage provides everything one needs for a very enjoyable holiday.
We had a lovely week in a Notts House. The cottage kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed. The cottage is lovely and quirky but also warm and cosy. We enjoyed the back garden which was a sun trap in the afternoon. A pleasant river side walk lead to the well supplied village shop. We also played tennis one day by contacting the club chair picking up a key. There are nice walks from the village along quiet roads and fields. A very nice time was had by all. Thank you.
Lovely character property in great location that offers wonderful views of the country side only a few miles from Hereford. The owners were very helpful our party had a great time would highly recommend
A beautiful property in a super location.
Fantastic cottage in a great location. The cottage was clean and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Its located in a beautiful village and we had easy access to places like Hay on Wye and Ludlow. The instructions were really clear on arrival and when leaving. The owner is lovely and really helpful. Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic stay for 10 days. The property is unique with its ancient twisted beams but completely livable modcons. Lovely and warm and quiet although bell parctice in the church is interesting! We needed to visit my elderly aunt in Hereford and will no doubt come again!
Lovey property well kitted out for all your needs. Clean and tidy on arrival, hope it was on our departure. Good location between the towns of Herford and Leominster but still very peaceful. Nice mix of facilities both in and outside the property. If you're looking at booking this property and it meets your needs then don't hesitate, you won't find much better.
Caroline
A very well equipped property in a lovely setting, thank you! The owner went the extra mile to welcome us with wine and nibbles and provided an extra fan to keep the bedrooms cool during the heatwave.
A group of us stayed at Notts Cottage for a long weekend in February and we were not disappointed with our stay. Due to the recent flooding in the area the owner made contact a week prior to our stay to discuss the situation. Further contact was made just before the visit to ensure we had all the information we could possibly needthis was in addition to the helpful info pack in the property. The cottage is characterful and has charm. The layout is quirky the top floor rooms have enough space to be comfortable and all rooms were immaculately clean. The lounge is a lovely, cosy place to relax and unwind. The kitchen certainly becomes the heart of the home with the range and spacious, sturdy table. There are character features which make your stay feel that little more special. Theres plenty of space for parking and whats not to love about a stroll through the adjacent cemetery? The village shop is fantastic and the locals we encountered were all really friendly. We would definitely stay at Notts Cottage again. Thank you for making it such a great place to have a rest!
Beds comfy, linen was lovely it was white companynice touch! . Loved the quirky, old house I would recommend staying here. Just enough hot water for the guests to get showered quickly!, not enough for the post roastdinner washing up. Other than this it was perfect, really enjoyed our stay here. Please note that the local pub has closed in Wellington so there isn't a pub within walking distance of the house this should be updated on the website as this was a requirement of our search. House was clean and well maintained no bin bags provided so take your own!. Perfect for a family get togethercelebration!
We stayed as here as 2 families ,being 78 adults in total . The cottage is very warm, with only 1 main living room to squeeze 8 adults into . The kitchen is a good size with a large table but no main food storage cupboard . Their are ample toilets and showers . The first floor bedrooms were very comfy and plenty of room . The 2nd floor is actually a converted attic room which is very cramped for adults with a spiral staircase leading up to the rooms . The village has a good shop but no pub . There are good walks from here and plenty to do in the surrounding area .
