Hoarders Cottage is a beautiful cottage situated on the fringes of HayonWye. The cottage has recently been renovated and has the appearance of an 18thcentury property, but with all the modern conveniences of a new building, including a wet room and dishwasher. We had a couple of excellent nights sleep in the large double bed, and the steep stairs did not bother us at all, as we had been prewarned about them. While we understood the name Hoarders Cottage, we were somewhat taken aback by the sheer number of items on display throughout the property, many of which had price tags. This gave the space more of a bricabrac shop feel, which we personally found a little overwhelming. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and usually expect some logs to be provided for a log fire. On this occasion, no logs were included, which meant we werent able to enjoy a fire during our stay. We were also surprised that access to the hot tub was curtailed on the final evening, which meant we werent able to use it right up until departure the following morning. Our biggest frustration was with the photographs, which we felt did not accurately show how close the owners newly built house is to the cottage. At its closest point it is around four metres away, and parts of it overlook the hot tub area. This left us feeling overlooked at times and reduced the sense of privacy. Overall, while the cottage itself is attractive and well renovated, these points affected how relaxing the stay felt for us.We had a very pleasant stay however from our point of view there were some very easy fixes to make this an even more enjoyable stay.

A beautiful cosy cottage in a charming little town, we spent hours in the many book shops within a five minute walk and spent hours more hiking up the stunning mountains nearby! Absolutely worth a stay, Wendy and co were so friendly and helpful and we felt so welcome, the perfect place for a getaway.
A very special place. The cottage was so cosy and homely with the most beautiful gardens and views. Wendy was so warm and welcoming. We had the most wonderful short break wish it had been longer in a lovely, friendly town. Highly recommended, everything was perfect.
Had a lovely stay here, Wendy was friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for better!

The cottage looked great in the pictures but was even better when we arrived. The owner Wendy met us and was lovely. We were shown around and then left to enjoy it and that we did. Hot tub was fantastic. Surroundings and garden were beautiful.

Perfect for cutting all ties to outside world, there really is no WiFi. There is a tv but only 4 stations were able to be viewed, it was our only letdown. We used our laptop and used hotspot to watch. Cottage perfectly situated on edge of quiet yet quirky book town.
A beautiful, romantic cottage, the open fire is a delight and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage.

We had a wonderful, restful weekend in Hoarders cottage. Brilliant hosts that could not do enough for us made the trip extra special! The cottage is perfectly located to explore HayonWye, walking distance to everything you might want to do! It was warm and had a homely, cosy feel made even better by the log burner! Would 100 recommend the cottage to anyone and wed love to return!
A gorgeous, quaint, cosy cottage situated just a short walk from all the shops, cafs, pubs and restaurants. The walks around HayonWye are beautiful with stunning views, walks along the river and the odd waterfall here and there. Getting back to the cottage after a long walk was just perfect! Light the log burner, open a bottle and just sit back and unwind. What more could you ask for!? Thank you Steve and Wendy for a wonderful week and giving us a detailed tour of your cosy cottage. Would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family!
Lovely helpful owners. A very quant cottage and very close to town amenities.
Beautiful little cottage, so close to all the shops & cafe's. We loved the hot tub and log burner. Very short walk to all the lovely cafe's and shopsbook shops. Wendy and Steve were on hand if we needed anything. Definitely one to recommend and re visit.

We had a lovely few day at this quaint little cottage. A great location within walking distance of town and country. It was good having the owners on site if needed. Super shower and the hot tub was a bonus. Paul & Glen

Lovely homely little cottage. Perfect escape for 2 people. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs in the town all serving excellent food. Lovely walks in the surrounding countryside. Wendy and Steve were perfect hosts.
A beautiful cottage to spend a few days and a great base from which to explore Hay. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Lovely quaint cottage loads of character, lives up to it's name of Hoarders cottage but this adds to charm. Wendy & Steve great people let you know the lay out of the cottage and are on hand if you need them otherwise they let you get on with your stay. Thanks Steve & Barb Street

Cottage was exactly as described, very small and very quirky. Very good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Comfortable bed and we slept really well. Great location on the edge of the town, a very short walk to many pubs and eateries. Owners were pleasant and welcoming.

A gem in the centre of Hay. Great place to relax and explore the town. Beautiful cottage, little garden overlooking the countryside. Owners are welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely stay and will return.
We had a lovely break in Hoarders Cottage. The hosts were wonderful and cottage super.
An absolutely delightful cottage in a wonderful setting. The main attraction for us was the wood burning stove! Our hosts were attentive and thoughtful and could not have been more welcoming. Plenty to do and see in the immediate area and surroundings. A fabulous romantic weekend away!
Gorgeous cosy cottage, beautifully restored with charm and all mod cons. Lovely bathroom, bath, shower, comfy bed and super warm with the wood burner. The property owners were really helpful, we had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in the future.
The property was exactly as described. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The cottage was so cosy and comfortable in a beautiful area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
A limit of 10 minutes hot water when showering etc then waiting 45 hours for tank to heat up, is poor in this day and age. Similarly a TV that functions properly is a simple need. With the log fire lit the cottage is a cosy place to relax. Staircase not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
The weather was cold so the cottage was also cold but as soon as the multifuel fire was lit it was transformed into cosy cottage. The owners were very friendly and most obliging and the standard of finish and quality of furnishings and fittings was excellent.
