The Cockerel is a lovingly restored 17th-century barn on an established working farm in Deepdean near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Set within a hidden valley in the heart of the Forest of Dean, this is an adults-only retreat with 60 acres of grounds to explore. What makes it genuinely different? The farm is home to an exotic animal sanctuary you'll hear wild animal sounds as your backdrop and may spot exotic breeds in the fields.

The setting is peaceful and rural. Walk through woodlands, explore English country gardens and swim in the shared heated outdoor pool (available April to September).

About The Cockerel

The Cockerel is a lovingly restored 17th-century barn on an established working farm in Deepdean near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Set within a hidden valley in the heart of the Forest of Dean, this is an adults-only retreat with 60 acres of grounds to explore. What makes it genuinely different? The farm is home to an exotic animal sanctuary you'll hear wild animal sounds as your backdrop and may spot exotic breeds in the fields.

The setting is peaceful and rural. Walk through woodlands, explore English country gardens and swim in the shared heated outdoor pool (available April to September). Evenings are something special hundreds of solar lights, a barbecue area and open starry skies.

The Cockerel sleeps 4 adults across two bedrooms. The ground-floor king-size bedroom has bespoke woollen curtains and pure linen bedding with an en-suite shower room. The mezzanine super-king bedroom has a wooden-panelled bath en-suite. A hand-crafted kitchen and solid wood dining area complete the space.

Ross-on-Wye is 3.5 miles away. Symonds Yat Rock is 7 miles. The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean waymarked trails are on the doorstep.
