The Cider House Reviews

We loved our recent stay at The Cider House so we have booked it again for March. The cottage is nicely appointed, modern and clean, it has everything you need. We have a dog and there are great walks straight from the door. If anything at all is needed, it might be a bigger table lamp in the lounge as it was a bit dim and having the ceiling and wall lights on made it a bit too bright but everything else was perfect. Trudie the owner is also on hand next door if anything is needed.

Very comfortable as we went in the winter we didn't go out much but the scenery ... Very comfortable as we went in the winter we didn't go out much but the scenery was lovely we actually went to exchange Xmas gifts with my family I would highly recommend
We found this cottage to be wonderful. It was clean, well equipped and a really good size. The outsize space was nice and secure for our pup to wonder around and know she was safe. It location is really nice. Set on a farm, theres no passing noise. And a nice treat to wake up and see sheep in the field. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place.
The Cider House had everything we wanted plus a secure garden for our dogs and great dog walks nearby. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The area is quiet countryside which is peaceful and relaxing. I was very impressed by a dog washing sink outside with hot water!! We loved it so much we have already booked a return visit! Ludlow is great to visit, interesting and historical so is Leominster but the town seems to have a lot of businesses closed down which is sad.
We had a fantastic weekend break at The Cider House. The property is pristine and very welcoming we loved the quality furnishings and the attention to detail. Two ensuites made it feel very luxurious! Theres such a lot to do in the area we need to visit again soon.
We had a lovely break at The Cider House. The cottage was well maintained, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It was great having two ensuites too. Garden was secure for the dogs and there was plenty of parking. Lots to do in the area without having to travel too far national trust places. Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, and pretty towns, such as Ludlow and Leominster. Highly recommend and would happily return. Thank you.
We thought that this was a well appointed and very comfortable cottage. It ranks as the best in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The level of thought for visitors that has gone into the cottage is obvious. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The best thing about the delightful Cider House was the large parking area and super enclosed space for dogs. The cottage is most comfortable, well equipped and has a very helpful owner. Set in a beautiful part of Herefordshire, there are many places to explore, National Trust and ancient villages.

This property is clean and well maintained. It is comfortable and has all the utensils and appliances needed for a relaxing holiday. A few welcoming gifts were well received and the owner, Trudie, could not be more helpful. We will definitely be returning in the future. Also our dogs loved the enclosed garden and car parking area.
The cottage was amazing, lovely peaceful location and easy access to nice towns and places to walk the dogs. The owners were very friendly and helpful with information about pubs that we could take the dogs and had nice food. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Nice to have books to read and some games for an evening in. Lovely secure garden for the dogs and plenty of parking space. We would definitely stay again.
The cottage is very well equipped and in a lovely quite location for that relaxing holiday.
A great holiday location, close to a lot of National Trust estates and local cities and towns so lots to see and do. Lots of outdoor space at the property for us and fully enclosed garden for the dogs. The en suite shower rooms were each a good size. All the rooms were very smart. Everything you need as a launching place for days out.
Another great week spent at this lovely property. My granddaughter and I have visited many places and discovered new things to do. We have walked in Queenswood Arboretum and also had Sunday roast at Docklow pools followed by another walk around the lakes and ponds. Been to Ludlow , Church Stretton , Bewdley , Leominster and Hereford. Its been a really great time . Trudie and Dom are very helpful and we came back with apple juice from the ladies down the road. Already booked to return next May. Many thanks for a great week at this lovely house .
Melvyn
Overall the cider house, was clean and comfortable, and in a fantastic location, how ever, disappointing that there is a house being built directly next door to The Cider House, which involved noise of a cement mixer and the radio being on at around 8 am each morning during the working week. We felt there was a lack of privacy in the garden. It would have been helpful to know in the description that there is a house in construction right next door, from the beginning, as we perhaps may have thought otherwise booking it.
Lorraine
Had a lovely long weekend at the Cider House two couples & our Whippet. The property was larger than it looks on the photos & was really comfy & homely spotlessly clean. Location is great peaceful but only 20 mins from Ludlow, Hereford etc. Also walking distance 1 mile to the Stockton Cross pub for a meal too. Our dog loved the large secure garden. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
Very enjoyable week, helped by the lovely weather. Nice quiet location for getting away from it all. Very comfortable, clean accommodation, well laidout. Ideal for us as two couples.
Maureen
A lovely cottage in beautiful countryside and near to numerous places to visit. Excellent host who was very helpful at the start of our holiday and then let us get on to enjoy our stay. Our dog had its own enclosed area which was great and the owners dogs were very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Stuart
The property was immaculate, we had everything we needed, really enjoyed our stay. When I contacted the owner, they readily responded, and were extremely helpful, couldnt really ask for better. If I go back to that area, Im certain the Cider House will be my first choice.
The cottage suited us very well. It was warm, comfortable and well equipped. The outside fenced area was perfect for my little Jack Russell's zoomies. We enjoyed the peaceful privacy and the proximity of Leominster, Ludlow and Hereford. The cottage is an ideal base for exploring the historic villages and castles of Herefordshire.
We had a lovely week in the Cider House, where we found everything we needed for our stay. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous with plenty of places to explore. The local pub, the Stockton Cross was very welcoming with some good banter with the locals and staff. The Sunday dinner was a particular highlight. The welcome pack was excellent and very welcome indeed.

We couldn't have asked for a better holiday cottage! Beautiful location, lovely and clean, very well equipped and completely dog friendly. Super happy with the large, enclosed garden, raised sink to wash muddy paws was just perfect and a boot room to dry off in. Honestly the best cottage we've stayed in. Had some lovely long walks straight from the cottage and came home completely relaxed. Wouldn't hesitate to book again
Barbara
We found the Cider House a lovely holiday destination in a beautiful setting. The actual cottage provided everything we expected from the listing. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The only slight niggle was that the cleaning was not quite as good as it might have been a little more attention to dusting in the corners would have been good.
Angela
The Cider House is set in a beautiful location and is a working farm, the Owners are friendly and are close by if you need advice or help. It was lovely to see their two dogs Jax and Lily, our dog would look for them on return from our day trips. The property is well set up as home from home with utensils, tea, coffee, milk and sponge, tea towel. We visited Ludlow, Leominster, Ledbury, everywhere was very dog friendly so it was a pleasure to take our Dog everywhere with us. She had a brilliant time, the garden is big and enclosed so she could wonder freely under our watchful eyes. She loved to say Hello to the Owners dogs. It was tranquil and relaxing which is just what we were looking for, a working farm so owners are friendly and around but let you get on with your time. Lovely property, lovely break and all 5 of us including the dog had a lovely time away. We would love to return in the future.
A lovely place to stay and explore Herefordshire. We looked for info on recommendations to eat but didnt see anything. We chose an Indian who delivered called jalabad, it was recommendable . This is just a positive feedback. And maybe a thought. Your place is beautiful and we loved the enclosed garden and views and enjoyed the farm life. Highly recommended for pet stays or family,The beds were so comfortable large and in complete darkness. It was bliss
The most peaceful place we've ever stayed in, lovely owner who was really friendly and helpful. The cottage was spacious and very well equipped and we can't wait to go back.
The cider house is in a lovely location, very peaceful and has an ideal layout, especially for a dog and has plenty of garden space for it and the family to enjoy.
Campbell
The property was spacious , comfortable and well equipped. It is situated on a farm and there are gates but it is located in quiet and beautiful countryside. There is lots to see and do in the area. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we had an excellent weeks holiday .
We really look forward to visiting Cider House and are never disappointed. The hosts are very attentive and leave you alone to enjoy your stay but are there if you need them. We definitely recommend Cider House to those that are looking for a peaceful relaxing break. We look forward to our next visit next year.
A high quality cottage and very comfortable. Very helpful owners.
Suzanne
We have stayed at Cider House several times to visit family in the area. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very well appointed. Lovely welcome pack. The owners are on hand to help with any issues that might arise during your stay and were really great when a member of our party was unwell. Lots to do and see in the area and the farm has some lovely footpaths. Depending when you visit there might be orphan lambs to pet and the ducks love to be fed.
Claire
A lovely cosy cottage. Great layout, the boot room was ideal for keeping muddy shores and dogs in. Plenty of space for the four of us. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Great to have an enclosed garden that our two dogs could run around in. We enjoyed our stay immensely, loved seeing the lambs and other residents. Would love to come back in the summer when its dryer.
Steven
Lovely cottages and friendly hosts. Sadly the weather meant that we did not spend any time with animals but hopefully they will all survive this rather wet spring! Thanks again for the kind welcome pack and the eggs which were vey much appreciated.
A welcome basket and milk and teacoffeesugar waiting. It is a working farm. Great base to travel around. It was raining when we stayed but always came back to a warm cottage. Facilities in the property great. Made to feel very welcome. Maybe need a handrail on both set of the steps outside we were both having own mobility problems.
Alison
The property was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. It was warm and there are some great views. The driveway might prove tricky for some, but we were ok with it, as we had a 4 x 4. We appreciated the assistance given with regard to the parking of our trailer. It is clearly a great place for dogs, and it was lovely to meet the owners own dogs. Overall a very positive experience.
The Cider House is a fantastic property. Very comfortable and very well equipped. We definitely intend to return and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it!
Sue-ellen
This is a great property and perfect for relaxing and being in the middle of no where yet still being close enough to towns to go and explore. The property is spacious and its a great benefit of having two bedrooms both with ensuites. Whilst we couldnt make much use of the garden and patio its a great space and something which I would imagine is great for lightersunnier nights. The owners were lovely and very friendly.
We stayed for three weeks leading up to New Year. Perfect cottage in all ways.Very cosy, well equipped and well furnished,in a lovely setting.Well situated for Ludlow and Hereford too.
