Penny Farthing Inn Reviews

We booked the Penny Farthing Inn for a family gathering to celebrate my mums 70th birthday. It doesnt feel like its been set up as a rental property very long. The coffee machine, dishwasher and heating did not work. The pub was cold and didnt make for a comfortable place to gather as a family. There was no heating downstairs in the pub and just a small log burner that didn't get the space well at all. Some of the bedding had stains on and the place was not cleaned well. Dirty laundry was found in pne of the rooms and the floors were dirty so we had to all wear footwear downstairs in the bar. The pool table and cinema rooms are nice additions and the outdoor beer garden with climbing frame was useful. Check out was at 10am which we felt was too early for such a large group to get out for, especially given there was only 1 tiny bathroom for most of the guests to use. 2 rooms had en suites in addition to this so the guests in the remaining 5 rooms had to share the main tiny bathroom. The taps in the toilets downstairs didn't work. The bedrooms , bathrooms and kitchen are tired and very basic. Not what we were expecting for nearly 3000 for a 2 night stay.

The Penny Farthing Inn is an excellent venue for a getaway whether its with family or for a stag do, you will always have a great time, the property is full of character, offering loads of space inside and out, the landlord was incredibly friendly and helpful too. I would recommend the Penny Farthing Inn to everyone. The only improvement would be more space around the pool table

Myself and the family recently had a fantastic weekend at the Pennyfarthing Inn and can honestly say it was everything we could have wanted and more. The property was just as described via the listing and the host and I believe his son who showed me around the property were both great and very helpful. We were blessed with the weather so was able to make great use of the beer garden and wrap our evenings up by blasting some karaoke songs out to see the night in. Will definitely be visiting again and judging from feedback from friends via pictures they saw he can definitely expect a few more bookings. Thanks for having us, Regards Rob

Lovely big property for a large group. The bar area was very difficult to keep warm 1 log fire and radiators that were controlled by thermostat in upstairs kitchen. Upstairs was lovely and warm so kept stopping. It was also on a 2 hour timer, so we had to keep putting it back on. The ensuite in the double room needs attention the tap is extremely wobbly, no cover over the shower drain, water was backing up in the shower A bit strange that there was no door on the en suite maserator was so loud we couldnt flush the toilet at night.

Wow!!! ! What a fabulous place! Plenty of parking space, dogs loved it enclosed garden x 2. Open fire and enough space for all. The host was fabulous, met us there to give a tour before watching a saftey video. Lovely welcome hamper and plenty of logs to keep the fire stoked up. Bathrooms may be an issue for those who go with people not too familiar with. 2 ensuites and one small shower room for all the sleeping accommodation however offset by ample toilets on the ground floor. We didnt have any issues as we were all family. Perfect break would recommend and definitely we will visit again
