The Forge Reviews

Christopher
I thoroughly enjoyed my weeklong stay. The Forge was clean, quiet and comfortable and facilities were fine. It is cosy yet not cramped and parking was easy, too. Only one little quibble a shelf for toiletries etc, perhaps fixed above the toilet cistern in the bathroom would be useful. Otherwise, delightful in all ways.
Graham
Thank you Jane and Dean for the warm welcome and the welcome pack of Apple juice, chocolate biscuits and the cider. Forge cottage has been skilfully renovated by the owners. There is sufficient space for two people. Very clean throughout and tastefully decorated. The cottage is ideal situated for exploring this lovely county. Three brilliant pubs in driving distance The Trumpet, Bunch of Carrots and the Moon Inn.
Sandra
A very sympathetically renovated blacksmith's forge. We found it comfortable for our week's stay. Use of the patio enabled us to eat outdoors in the good weather. The bedroom area although it was obvious from the site pictures that it was potentially problematic, it did prove to be more cramped than expected due to the sloping ceiling. The expected meet and greet seems to be dependant on the time of arrival. Maybe this could be reworded to at our earliest opportunity. However, Jane and Dean were responsive to our needs during the week. The welcome gifts of biscuits, apple juice and cider were appreciated. We enjoyed the chats with Dean.
Lovely accomodation in a renovated building that used to be a forge. Compact, but with all you need. Tarrington is a great location to get to most places in and around the Wye valley. Indeed, you can simply walk from the village there! Highly recommend the Trumpet pub which is close by.
Beautiful little cottage, lovely and cosy in the stunning countryside of Herefordshire. Amazing attention to detail and arrived with a nice surprise of wine and a box of chocolates. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Sylvia
The Forge is a delightful place to stay with lovely hosts Jane and Dean. Clean and comfy with all you need. We would hope to return and explore area further as our trip was cut short due to health issues.
Amanda
Beautiful little property. Quirky and stylish. Very clean and good facilities. Nice area of the country and good fairly local pubs.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Forge. We had everything we needed and it was a very cosy cottage to relax in after a day's walking or sightseeing. Also, the cottage is in a good position, between Hereford and Ledbury, for visiting Herefordshire.

An excellent renovation done to a very high standard. A home from home with all the amenities you need. The hosts live next door and are very friendly and helpful. The welcome gifts were appreciated.
Fantastic, comfortable and cosy as always thank you. Will be back!
This is a beautifully cosy, clean, warm and friendly place to stay with secure parking. Jane and Dean are really lovely people. We would absolutely go back there again. So long as you have a car, everything is within a short distance. If you are a history fan you couldn't be placed better for local interests. Everything we could need was here for us. Try it! You'll love it. We did. Juliet and Mark Bartlett

Delightful little cottage restored to high standard and well furnished with everything needed for two people.
Excellent quality stay, would love to stay here again. This place is like a show home. Absolutely perfect
This amazing cottage was exactly as depicted in pictures. In addition, I did not expect it but the garden behind the house is not used by the owners and is very secluded and very nice place to relax, meditate or have an exercise. There is plenty of nice walks nearby and places to visit. I will be definitely coming back to this charming cottage and very hospitable owners.
